About the Artist...

Swimming at age four, the water had always been an integral part of life. It was an exciting adventure, trooping down the beach with rafts and tubes to float aimlessly and endlessly on the bay... daydreaming.

The sea is a strong influence on this island. The shore holds presents of shells to be collected and marveled for their intricate design.  The study of the shells, in pastel, were successful.  Landscapes and seascapes captured our ever changing and fragile environment, now in private collections.  On my easel is a work in progress of a threatening cloud over Robin's Island.

Mermaid time is on my mind, fun and humorous fantasies swim in ribbons of blue with a family of friends.  The mermaids represent a sense of freedom in thoughts and deeds.  Please enjoy my latest inspiration.

Dana Little Brown:

A resident of North Sea, NY, the artist's work reflects the unique qualities that make landscape painting on the East End a reflection of seasonal changes. Like the seashell, the shadows and the atmosphere shift, and this too evokes a sense of timelessness and eloquence.

The mermaids are whimsical fantasies, painted in oil, that capture the flow of the sea and lend a sense of humor to what could be.
